Flooding threat along French Creek eases, but flood remains possible

MEADVILLE — Minor flooding of French Creek near Meadville remains possible today, according to the National Weather Service, but the creek is forecast to crest lower than what was anticipated.

Crawford County remains under a flood warning from the National Weather Service as the creek is forecast to rise above its 14-foot flood stage in Meadville by this evening and crest at 14.1 feet by late tonight. The creek is expected to fall below flood stage by Monday morning.

Runoff from earlier rains will continue the threat of flooding today as water flows from ponded areas and small streams into larger streams and rivers.
